Firestarter is a complete firewalling solution for Linux. Use the firewall creation wizard to create a basic firewall, then streamline it further using the powerful dynamic rule modifiers. Open and close ports with a few clicks, or stealth your services giving access only to a select few. Watch the real-time hit monitor as attackers probe your machine for open ports, in vain. Firestarter is designed for use with GNOME but will work in most environments. Firestarter can make use of your old firewall scripts or generate its own. Changes in 0.3.0: - Now makes use the GNOME 1.2 StatusDocklet object - Right-click on a firewall hit to apply a dynamic rule, modifying the firewall on the fly - Several new requested convenience features, like the "Remove identical firewall hit lines" preference option - The wizard now generates a slightly stronger ruleset by default - Minor bugfixes The home page of the program is at: http://firestarter.sourceforge.net Marvin - Philippine Linux Users Group.
