least) are sending a unique system ID and/or personal information in the
clear to the vendor every time you download a file...

I wonder if similar "Free" products for Linux might not be doing something
similar...ladies and gentlemen, man your packet sniffers...
This highlights one reason for "Free" Open Source software as
opposed to just "free" (as in free beer) software.
