No offense meant, but I'm just wondering, considering these announcements
can be found elsewhere (other mailing lists, on announcement sites like
Freshmeat and Slashdot to name a few, and on their respective homepages),
is there a need to re-announce in the PLUG mailing list? This is the third
this batch, and there was another "batch" that I couldn't help but notice
before.
I don't really know ... they're not as timely as the other announcement
avenues, and if we wanted PLUG to have announcements for all software that
we deemed important, siguradong ubos ang oras nating lahat kababasa ng
e-mail.
I'm not particularly sensitive to e-mail, sanay akong maraming binabasang
mailing list, but do we really need this duplication? Can't we let each
Linux user take care of keeping him/herself up to date as far as his/her
favorite apps are concerned? Perhaps really important bugs with universal
things like the kernel are tolerable ... but apps?
Something I hope we can think about, and then act on with each our own
judgement. It is a free world after all. Just my 2 cents worth. :)
