MAC
- Medium ACcess or Layer 2 of the OSI Model
- refers to the unique network interface address
  ...usually assigned to one or more network addresses 
  (e.g., IP address) -- Layer 3: Network Layer

the Mac you mentioned refers to MacIntosh...Apple computer.
