Hi Guys,

This networking novice needs some suggestions on the setup I need to have.
Basically, I need to be able to connect to the company network thru VPN.
The problem is CheckPoint's VPN solution (the VPN software we're about to
us) does not have a Linux client software.

Now, my problem is how can I have my Linux work machines (I will be
telecommuting from home soon) be able to connect to our network w/o having
a Linux VPN client? My quick solution is to setup WinGate so the VPN
software can be installed there, and also have it act as NAT, and DHCP
server. Any of you guys have this setup? I'd appreciate any information.

Also, I have a LinkSys EtherFast Cable/DSL router that I originally
planned on using as router, NAT, and DHCP server for the machines in our
house (before the VPN came in to play). I still plan on using it, but I
do not know if this setup will work properly:

                              +------[PC/Linux] +--[NT]
                              | |
 -[cable modem]--[EtherFast]--+--[NT w/ WinGate]--[hub]--[Linux box]
                              | |
                              +------[PC/Windows] +--[Linux box]

Here are the things I think this setup will do:
- The EtherFast is the router, NAT, and DHCP server for the boxes in my
planned network.
- Only the machines behind WinGate will be able to get to the company
network.

Will this work? Any comment, caveat, or tip?

stay cool.
