Indeed.  Which brings an interesting question: are there any practical
differences betwenn *BSD and Linux text console shell (accounts)?  Of
course, there ought to be differences, but since I trust that in using
shell accounts one can use Unix remotely, should there be anything on
the lookout that could be potentially problematic?  (Forgive me, I
should be using BSD more often, and am also considering getting a
balisong.org account)...

Another bit: it's interesting that Metawire's run by the same folks
behind brained.org .  That was the first shell account I have way back
in 2001, but then it was already troubled by that time.  I reckon that
service was on a Linux machine, still on the 2.2...
