JC,
I am intrigue with your answer. I appreciate the exprienced shared by
the Paolo, Tito Mari, Ricardo and Jervin. Let me ask you to share your
knowledge of HCLs because that seem to be a M$ term. Can you please help
me by giving sample web links of any Linux distributors on their HCLs.
Off course you might say tamad ako pero I believe if somebody have
tested a motherboard/chipset in a specific Linux flavor then that
would one step ahead in avoiding a costly mistake again. Kuripot din
ako dahil hinahanap ko yong motherboard na meron built-in NIC, audio or
video kasi personnal money ko ito. Eto ay kong meron nang nasubokan na.
Or maybe the reverse. Are there mobo manufacturers that certify their
mobo to be fully compatible with a certain Linux flavor. Salamat uli.

You might want to think about looking at your preferred distributions
HCL. That would be a better source of compatibility info.

++I am about to build a Linux box but I wanted a motherboard that would
++have the best compatibility. I am very bias to ASUS motherboard but I
++would rather follow any suggestion that has been tested. I am looking
++for a motherboard that has build in Audio, NIC and video if possible.
I
++don't know if this is a good idea but I think this will bring down the
++cost. Lastly are SATA drives already support on what Linux flavor.
Thank
++you for your suggestions.
