If you've read the specs of that hardware - you'd see that they're also using the same RAID controllers and type of motherboards that was followed up in this thread. They are expensive, no doubt about it, no getting away from it. I would suggest that you get a Tyan motherboard (with 64-bit PCI or PCI-X slots) for the Athlon, and the LSI Logic MegaRAID 150-6 for a good balance between price, reliability, and performance.
