The problem about the Ctrl keys can be easily solved by remapping some keys. For instance, swap the left Ctrl key with the Caps-Lock key. Remapping the keys made Emacs a lot easier for me. You can go to http://anticapslock.com for instruction on how to remap your keyboard on X, Linux console, or the other O$. Or if you can afford it, buy the "Happy Hacking Keyboard". -- Gideon N.
