Hehe, I somewhat agree with you on this one, Orly. :D Somehow, being on the lists long enough (subjective definition ;) gives you a different view on such matters. Have I been green to this list, I might have challenged your statement, but I see the better wisdom: we can certainly do much of our work in GNU/Linux and be `winners' in our own right, regardless of what many Theo de Raadts or Daniel Lyndons say about us. > really. it's time to get off it. as for Microsoft, they have lost a > number of blue-chip customers to Linux, so it's not surprising that > they've stepped up their propaganda offensive. Nothing surprising (or > Evil Empire-ish) there, just the marketplace at work. Indeed. Which thus brings us to ponder: what can we do to step up *our* advocacy of GNU/Linux in particular and FOSS in general? I say, there's a solution for that: <plug>the upcoming *Software Freedom Day*</plug> =D Seriously, we need a lot people-power for this people-event, not to mention sponsors (and hardware, too!). So instead of bashing M$ and crapping the PLUG lists, better give a helping hand to us! Interested? More details at the SFD_Philippines wiki[1].
