This is very much an issue with the support of graphics card
manufacturers rather than the development libraries or 3D engines
being used by the software developers. Especially with today's
graphics-intensive games. While companies like id and Epic push out
linux versions of their games, this is very much a learning period for
now and these 2 are doing this risk to be ahead with the technology
for linux gaming is there. If the big 2 (ATI and Nvidia do officially
support technologies such as SDL or other FOSS-related rendering
technology, gaming in Linux will definitely arrive.
