a simple solution for COPY and PASTE in XTERM is using the Three-button mouse, in your installation you must enable the EMULATE THREE BUTTON. just highlight the words you want to copy then click the Right and Left button mouse simulataneously.

But on xterm, I cannot copy text from it to be used with other apps.
Although I use xterm most of the time, I occasionally use
gnome-terminal (which is less resource hog than Konsole?) when I use
mutt or lynx.

Or is there a workaround so that I can copy text on xterm?
