Anyone remember OS/2 Warp 3.x for Windows? This was a version of OS/2 that
used an existing Windows 3.x for its (OS/2's) Windows runtime. That is,
when you installed OS/2, it would detect your existing Win 3.x, and use the
settings -- win.ini, system.ini, fonts, Program Manager groups, etc. Thus,
when you ran the Windows "prompt" (forget what they call it), your old
Windows comes up as a task within OS/2. I'd like to see wine or bochs or
vmware do something like that automagically. For that matter, IMHO, Freenix
installs can ease the migration by doing things like grafting My Documents
onto /home/{userID}, copying fonts, mail settings, etc. A Freenix
Mozilla/Firefox install should be able to detect IE stuff in the DOS
partition and offer to import the settings from there.Mabuhay.
