Doesn't screen(1) do all of these, not to mention being able to *detach* terminal sessions, and even *view the same session on multiple xterms at once* (via screen -x)? I don't know for sure if app-level cut and paste is usable, however. I usually just do screen's cut-and-paste and save the data to ~/.clipboard where Emacs and other apps can just open and grab. Of course, it may be extra effort, but it keeps me focused. As for scrolling, my urxvt here in Debian works without any hitches. But, then again, I use screen, so it really is just a matter of hitting C-a [ in the xterm to do scrolling and copy-paste operations, in the same time, if willing. -- ZAK B.
