1. Your Ubuntu is corrupted.
2. Your CMOS setup is faulty.
Possible solutions:
1. Get another ubuntu CD.
2. Try booting/installing by other means.
3. Get Slackware 10.2 ;) --> you can safely ignore this one. I'm just a biased penguin. *lol*
