marvin,

how did the local linuxworld event start out?  is it
(or will it be) an annual event here in the
philippines?  my concern is that the linuxworld event
coincided with the ISSSP manilacon event.  the
manilacon event is scheduled circa sept 11 (due to the
9/11 incident in the US).  it would be better if the
events did not fall on the same week.  i would wanted
to attend both events...and would hope the same for
some of my colleagues.

it was also the same time with the Philippine Youth Congress in Information Technology (Y4IT) in UP Diliman Theater, attended by more than 3,000 mostly students from as far as benguet to the visayas.
