ian, a general assembly?  good idea!  just get the sponsors for it.

marvin,
i hope LinuxWorld 2006 will be on Aug -- not Sep (for ManilaCon of ISSSP) or June (for ICT Congress of PCS). dunno about the other IT orgs.

if the LUGs don't want to band together as an organization, it would not be a problem per se (IMHO).  there will just be missed opportunities.  this is as long as all LUGs promote f/oss and provide support especially among LUGs and f/oss users.  the ripple effect will hopefully create new activities and perhaps create new synergy / collaborations among LUGs.

In line with this, why not coincide the PLUG general assembly with any
of the big F/OSS event set next year, say on the last day of the
event? This way, we can have both technical / learning sessions *and*
an organizational session. This would also give the event a national
scope since -- hopefully -- individuals and groups from all parts of
the country will be attending? Just a suggestion. :)

There will be a LinuxWorld 2006 and actually Ms. Delia Gutierrez of
MediaG8way was the one who was/is looking forward for PLUG's support.
But I can't ask them by that time in behalf of PLUG because I will not
be the president for the next term or maybe a member of the board. This
will be the job for the next president or the next board of officers.

I already addressed this issue from the very start.

That's actually the problem. But I believe that most LUGs I know are
supporting the ideals/plans of PLUG.

Thank you.
