I'm now trying out subpixel smoothing on my work laptop (Thinkpad
R50e, 1024x768 on 14", 75x75 dpi). Offhand, it's better here than on
my home PC (AOC LM725 with DVI, 1280x1024 on 17") where I have opted
to use "High Contrast" instead. I will do some more tuning at home.

What's obviously broken is that some funts look bad on subpixel
smoothing. They are too skinny.

Is there a way of selectively enabling smoothing?

For example, GMail looks good. (I can't see the stylesheet)
Livejournal.com looks good (font-family: "Verdana", sans-serif;
font-size: 10pt;)
http://techscene.free.net.ph/ looks skinny. (No font name in the
http://techscene.free.net.ph/style.css ?)
