Nice that you mention this. I'm getting the upgrade itch to switch to
a a Sempron 64-bit for the wider registers and Cool N' Quiet, but I
guess by this criterion my Celeron D is "better."

My guess is - AMD64 is better on servers that have little chance of
running 32-bit binaries?
