where does the error coming?
on the client or on the server?

an error message would be helpfull to troubleshoot your problem..
where is the proxy.pac located?

might be just a network problem..how bout ping results?

the problem is, clients can no longer access the proxy
using proxy.pac.
 
i've tried resolving the address in the dns but doesn't work.
