What I did was I just connect directly the UTP cable from my NIC to the gigabit port of my switch. The cables are pretty well crimpped on a standard Cat5e AFAIK. Although, I'm not the one who crimpped the RJ45s of the UTP cable. > have you checked your actual bandwidth using bandwidth measuring tools > like iperf for example?
