Hello everyone,

If you've recently updated your CentOS boxes to 4.2 (RHEL and other
clones might be affected as well) with SELinux turned on, you might be
getting messages similar to the following in your /var/log/messages:

Nov 5 15:56:59 database dbus: Can't send to audit system: USER_AVC
pid=2552 uid=81 loginuid=-1 message=avc:  denied  { send_msg } for
scontext=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t
tcontext=user_u:system_r:initrc_t tclass=dbus

This actually a SELinux bug (which, btw, has generated a rather
amusing debate on the CentOS list on whether to turn on SELinux on or
not).

To fix this one, just download the new RPMs at

ftp://people.redhat.com/dwalsh/SELinux/RHEL4/U3/noarch

and do an rpm -Uvh *

Hope this helps.
