Well, so far so good. Slackware installed and is running without
much problems (except those due to human-made mistakes). I just installed
the A packages (full). Haven't had time to test it thoroughly. [<-----snip----->]
All well and good! All that’s left for you now are some from the N packages. And since slackware packages are optimized for the 486 architecture (for now anyway), your box should serve you for a decent length of time. It might be best to add more memory though, if you can still find them.
