DOST V, in cooperation with the Regional Information Technology and E-Commerce Committee (RITECC V), will be conducting a one-day Bicol Open Source Forum on December 15, 2005 (tentative schedule) at the Bicol University, Legazpi CIty.
The forum aims to advocate FOSS to address the rampant software piracy in the region and for austerity measures. Further, it will jumpstart the creation of an Open Source Society to convene IT professionals/advocates/users in Bicol towards FOSS use.
Being the leader in FOSS promotion and use, may we request necessary assistance in identifying and inviting resource persons during the forum. We have identified the following topics (based on the topics presented during LinuxWorld Conference 2005):
