That would make Xenos Eloy's lolo <gd&r -- very fast, good thing I'm still in fairly good shape>. As to non-ICT professionals advocating FOSS, IMHO, they might even be more credible than those with formal ICT training. As to the legions of pilots, lawyers, accountants, and law enforcement officers using FOSS, it's highly unlikely that they'll stumble into it by accident. Rather, they're more likely to have a FOSS-using friend -- i.e., one of us -- demonstrate to them the superiority of the alternative. Just as Eric introduced Cito, then Cito introduced Eloy to FOSS, we have the obligation to present the alternative. It may involve some hand-holding at the start, but IMHO, if that's what it takes, then so be it. The understanding of coeurse is that the hand-holding will be temporary. Also, it may not always work, particularly if there's some critical application without a FOSS equivalent. As an aside, IMHO, a more appropriate application for a police blotter is some database.
