Got it to work!
1. Updated Fedora Core 4 X to the latest
2. Shrunk AGP Aperture down to 16 MB, inspired by:

Now, X is running the "trident" driver, but when playing a DVD in
xine, it's too choppy. xine and X compete for the CPU. It's normal
that xine takes up CPU, but X... ? I guess the driver isn't too good.
