If you are attending the PLUG technical seminar
on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Ateneo de Manila
University, Q.C., please read on.

1. If you are driving your car into the Ateneo Campus,
please email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED], so that we
can reserve a parking slot for you near the Science
Education Complex, which is very near the venue
PLDT-CTC. If you do not email me ahead of time, then
you will need to park at the visitors North parking
areas
near the Social Sciences Building, which is about five
buildings away. Also you are not guarranteed a parking
space there, since that is a first-come first served
parking area.

2. The MMDA has installed a fence on the center island
on Katipunan Avenue, to prevent pedestrians from
crossing
Katipunan in front of Gate 2 and Gate 3, the natural
pedestrian crossing areas. You can NOT cross Katipunan
at Ateneo Gate 2 and Gate 3. If you are walking into
campus
from the opposite side of Katipunan, you have to use
the
pedestrian footbridge near National Bookstore/Jollibee
and enter Ateneo campus at pedestrian gate No. 2.2,
and walk
to PLDT-CTC building, through the Ateneo tree park
between
Katipunan Avenue and the college complex. The park is
not
indicated on the campus map, but it is there.

3. The campus has a crazy gate numbering system. Gate
2 is
entry-only gate for motorists, but pedestrians can use
this gate. Gate 2.2 is a gate for pedesterians only.
The footbridge connects Gate 2.2 to National
Bookstore.
Gate 2.4 is exit-only gate for motorists. I have not
seen
pedestrians use this gate. Gate 3 is entry-only gate
for
motorists, but pedestrians can use this gate. Gate 3.5
is exit-only gate for motorists. So if you are
driving
from Makati, you enter Gate 2 and exit Gate 2.4. Or
you can enter Gate 3 and exit Gate 3.5. If you are
driving from UP, you must take a U-turn after the
footbridge,
and enter either Gate 2 or 3.

Gates 2.2, 2.4, and 3.5 are not indicated on the
campus
map. Only Gate 2 and Gate 3 are on the map.

We have to know how many are coming, so that we can
advise
the College Cafeteria to prepare food for you to buy.
On Saturdays, the cafeteria runs out of food quickly
during
lunch time.

We hope to see you there -- to attend the PLUG January
2006
technical seminar.
