now putting your swap on a *solid state disk* is a different story. SSD is not flash-based, rather it's static RAM. so it doesn't "wear out" like flash does (after all, flash is a form of EEPROM). but solid state disk is EXTREMELY expensive. better buy ordinary RAM and keep your PC on all the time.
Thanks for the warning -- got carried away -- actually got to install whitebox 4.0 off a usb thumbdrive -- had to tweak it to make it recognize the /dev/sda manually to continue booting.
On the other hand, I got hold of a an IDE Flash HDD -- guess this isn't solid state as well...oh well...
