Subject: Re: [plug] squid cluster and load balancing

I created a squid cluster using OpenMosix, I used a spare PC to act as a member of a cluster.

you wont get benefit running squid under openmosix... openmosix single system image (SSI) approach is different from a true SSI (eg. hp's tru64)

squid wont get load balance from openmosix cluster because squid is a single process (by default)... if you have two pc in a cluster... squid will just run in one of them.... if that pc crash where squid is running... it wont migrate to the other pc... it will just simply die your proxy service....

fooler.
