I actually tried running Starcraft on SuSE 9.3 with Cedega/WineX.  But
it was tooooo slow :-(

You should check if you have the proper openGL drivers installed for your video card. The command: "glxinfo | grep rendering" would tell you if it is configured or not. Lately I've been tackling on how to configure my Radeon 9600 gl drivers in linux but to no avail. Nvidia linux support is great, their drivers are easy to use and configure! :-)
