1. This is a "technical" mailing list for PLUG members and this topic is way very OFF-TOPIC. This does not concern Linux but only Microsoft Windows and its problem of not making more profit.
2. Why allow Linux users to be instruments in ensuring the success of a propriety, closed software? Microsoft softwares are not opensource. As a FOSS advocate I am also against piracy, but I want to show that not by making a propriety software richer.
I also don't like the idea that people are pushed to using Linux because it costs nothing and only to find out that they had a very difficult time adjusting and looking for support. People should be moving into Linux/FOSS because of its nature --free and open source. Because for all we know there are many who have Microsoft licenses and yet continues to junked Microsoft and join the Linux/FOSS bandwagon. My laptop has a built in WinXp and the license for it but I don't use it for I boot most of the time in Ubuntu.
Let us stop piracy but also stop the domination of closed and propriety softwares.
Just a thought.
