Thanks for the heads up! We've been eyeing the WiFi solution ever since.
In this case what are the equipments that we will be needing and what
nice brand? We will be needing a WiFi router and two WiFiLan cards, am I
correct?
Yes, that is correct. I've been using a Cisco/Linksys WRT54g router to
do roughly the same thing (my sister's room is downstairs and mine is
upstairs, that saved cabling), and I'll give it a recommendation, as
it's reasonably cheap (3k or so) and you can later flash it so you can
access the embedded GNU/Linux. Since we're both using laptops with
integrated WiFi, I can't really make recommendations as to what WiFi
cards you can buy, especially for desktops. The Prism/Orinoco chipsets
seem to be the best supported by GNU/Linux, and PCMCIA versions of cards
that used them were what I used with my old laptop, which didn't yet
have integrated WiFi capability.
Thanks a lot all of you have been helpful! I'll look for Cisco/Linksys
WRT54g after work! ^_^
