FLACs are completely lossless, so are good for storage of your CDs
(without having to waste space). They're especially good if you want
to rebuild audio CDs, since being lossless the actual CD wav data is
completely recoverable. MP3s suck at storing jazz tracks, IMHO,
especially if the piece has a lot of dynamic range (think bass lines
sounding terrible and muddy while the losing high end dynamics).
Haven't tried OGG as a format for jazz tracks though.

In any case, yeah, as for the switches, could be done. :)
