Subject: Re: [plug] hamachi like open source project
does anyone here know a mediated peer-to-peer application? beside hamachi
and openVPN and of-course file-sharing P2P application.
what VPN are you really looking?
what kind of vpn would you like? either *secure vpn* or *trusted vpn*?
a secure vpn is using a tunnelling protocol that encapsulate the payload
over the internet (eg. gre, ipsec, ssl, tls, l2f, pptp, l2tp, etc) while
trusted vpn is using a private line or circuit (eg. atm circuits, frame
relay circuits, layer 2 frames over mpls, etc)
after that... what type of vpn would you like? either *site-to-site vpn* or
*remote access vpn* or combination of both?
a site-to-site vpn is a LAN to LAN connectivy while the remote access vpn is
a USER to LAN connectivity...
know what kind and type of VPN would you like and there are lots of open
source VPN solutions out there..
fooler.
