Hi, Bong,

Don't do it on anything less than 512MB.  I tried VMware-player on a 256MB machine and it fell flat on its face.

Unfortunately, I don't know about VMware-player and Ubuntu VMX image on Windows because, as everyone knows, I don't do Windows ;-)

Seriously, there is a player for Windows, so you can try that out.  My friend Carl Sia had it working.  But I can't answer any questions about it.

There are several other images you can get: Fedora, DB2, etc.  Look in the VMware site.

What do you think will be the performance If I install Ubuntu and VMWare with Win XP

(I need it for Dreamweaver and MS VB for maintenance of my programs) on a Celeron 1.3G

Laptop with 256 of ram? I don't want to reinstall my laptop yet because it is where I work.

I test the linux distros on my PCs.
