I'd just let him rant on his narrow perception of "innovation". My comments: a) Some of the FOSS projects we could see in that site do represent a couple of firsts in implementation, e.g. phpMyLibrary was the first open source electronic library system to have export to MARC21 functionality (Koha followed suit afterwards), iptraf was one of the first Pinoy FOSS software to be included as part of the mainstream distros, chix afaik is the only FOSS implementation of Chikka's protocol, and it integrates with GAIM. b) Other software indicated there have proven their use by many people already in the past and/or have garnered awards for showing innovativeness, e.g. iptraf, CHITS, Joomla for instance.
