  * Evaluating your IT Security Infrastructure using Metasploit and
Nessus, by Christian Masancay and Daniel Tumalad. Discussion on
principles of penetration testing and vulnerability assessment in
computing environments using open source tools.

Christian Masancay and Daniel Tumalad are both members of the
Advance Computing Center for eSecurity (ACCeS) of SyCip Gorres Velayo

  * Introducing SLAX, by Ambrosio Berdijo Jr. Overview about the
SLAX Live-Linux distribution, its special features, how to customize
SLAX and a demonstration of various custom versions of SLAX.

  * PostgreSQL: More on Managing Roles and Privileges, by Charlton
Lopez. Database security essentially begins with how we define users
and roles within the database and what privileges we grant them. For
this seminar in PostgreSQL, see a viable approach in setting up and
maintaining a security model and learn how to confirm privileges
granted to users and roles. This is a continuation of what was tackled
in the Q1 seminar PostgreSQL: Managing Roles and Privileges.

Charlton Lopez, OCP DBA, RHCE, Novell CLP is a consultant
specializing in database administration. He primarily works with
Oracle technologies like Real Application Clusters for high
availability and load balancing, Recovery Manager for backup and
recovery, Data Guard for high availability and data protection, among
other disaster recovery solutions. In his spare time, he does research
on database administration best practices and how these could adapted
for the open source databases PostgreSQL and MySQL. He eventually
contributes these knowledge to PLUG.

  * GPL 3.0, by Atty. Bong Dizon. Salient points in the newly
released GPL 3.0, explained in layman's terms.

intellectual property laws.

building using the popular Rails framework by 37signals.

Cyril Ucron David is one of the founding members of UPStrat Inc,
an upstart development firm using Ruby and Rails.

  * Technopreneurship, by Jay Bernardo and Richie Cruz. How to build
a business plan around a technical idea, how to get funding, how to
bring it to market.

Jay Bernardo and Richie Cruz are professors at Asia Institute of
Management (AIM).

  * Press Relations, by Gabriel Mercado. How to deal with the
press, how to conduct oneself in an interview, how to explain Linux to
the layman, and other tips.

Certificates of attendance shall be made available to interested
people upon request at the price of P75 per topic.

For information and widest dissemination.
