2 months ago.. I was able to compile ipw2200 and ieee82011 without any problem. Hmm.. maybe it's because centos released several kernel updates. Thanks for the hint!

the driver you've just compiled is most likely to be specific
for the "vanilla" kernel (it is the one that we download at
kernel.org), and not for RH/Clone-ized kernel. if you're not
using any of those RH-ized enterprise linux kernel modules,
replaced it with a vanilla kernel. or if you're lucky, try to read
source code's Makefiles and check if you need a little tweaking
before compiling it and making it work on EL kernels.
