XUSER 4905 9.2 11.4 124252 58816 ? Sl 09:50 1:17
/usr/lib/firefox-1.5.0.1/firefox-bin -UILocale en-US
This is Firefox 1.5.0.1 on CentOS 4.2 (compiled from FC4 SRPMS).
Anyway, here's what you can do to reduce Firefox memory consumption
(using about:config):
- Set "browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers" to 0. [1]
- Set "browser.cache.memory.capacity "[2] to a small value like "8192"
or "4096". [3]

[2] This option does not exist in Firefox's about:config by default.
You have to manually create this entry your self.
