Maybe you'd also like to consider what apps you need? :) The distros have apps bundled already.

Hmmm. I am not sure if this linux distribution chooser ( http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/index.php?select_lang=true&LDC=3a765deae65482e91d0da582216219a3) would be very helpful  in helping you narrow down your choices but at least it could help you assess certain things.
