Wow, that's a lot indeed! You could have just gotten the first 2 or 3
CDs though, and grab the rest via the network... then again, its not
bad to have the whole collection around, just in case ;-)

There isn't much difference between Ubuntu and Debian; currently
Ubuntu provides a `LAMP' install option, but that's just really a
customization of the base install; you can pretty much replicate the
same setup with Debian's tasksel/dselect/aptitude...

Actually, many use of Debian is for server installations; the typical
Debian sysadmin just keeps a `netinst' CD or USB key around, plus
another containing their setup, just in case a server needs
bootstrapping.
