I just experienced a major "gotcha" while upgrading from Breezy to Dapper
via "apt-get dist-upgrade". Few days ago, I changed the MAC address of the
built-in Ethernet adaptor on the BIOS setup. So what happened now is that the
MAC address of the Ethernet adaptor does not match the one listed
on /etc/iftab. This was fine on Breezy. However, after the doing a
dist-upgrade, I could not get my ethernet interface up. It took me hours to
figure out that on Dapper the MAC address on the ethernet adaptor should
match the one listed on /etc/iftab, otherwise, the system won't detect the
Ethernet adaptor.
