Thanks a lot guys, sorry for the last reply, I
take a day off for 2 days.
There is no error in the compilation. The "make"
command was successful. I was only wondering why in the guides I have followed,
it supposed to create the files mod_jk.so or mod_jk2.so, instead I got
mod_jk2.la, mod_jk2.lo and mod_jk2.o
Anyway, it is working since last Sunday. I just
downloaded the Fedora Core 1 binary that is available in the website and it
seems it is compatible with my CEntOS4.3.
The Java port and Test pages works.
Are there an issue here in terms of security since
it has already no support?
May bayad po =)

Hi
Geruel,
Why do you need to compile your jk connector? As much as
possible you must use the binaries. Is the linux jk connector not
compatible with CentOS?
In any case, you should NOT be using the jk2
connector since it still has many problems but support for it has
lessened. As Jeff suggested, if you are interested in the jk2
implementation over the previous jk versions, it is better to use
mod_proxy.
And what were the errors in compiling the jk connectors?
Surely if it were not able to create the mod_jk so files, the logs would
have recorded the problem. These logs might give you a clue as to what
happened.
Hope that
helps.

Hi,
I need help in Integrating Tomcat and Apache on
CentOS 4.3.I have been able to make tomcat works but I cant integrate it
with apache since I cant figure out why I cant make the modules mod_jk.so
and mod_jk2.so build.
I have tried so many guides and here are some
of those I reallyfind so helpful.
http://www.linuxmine.com/23.html http://www.ozibug.com/doc/howto/apache-integration-howto.html#compile
http://penguincares.no-ip.org:9090/mylinuxtips/?p=241 http://bbs.chinaunix.net/archiver/?tid-505142.html
http://edu.51cto.com/html/2005/0901/2285.htm http://www.pixelfreak.net/howto/apache2_jk2_tomcat/socket.html
Even then, after issuing this commands, tar zxvf
jakarta-tomcat-connectors-jk2-2.0.4-src.tar.gz cd
jakarta-tomcat-connectors-jk2-2.0.4-src/ cd jk/native2 #make
clean ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs make cd
../build/jk2/apache2/ cp mod_jk2.so /usr/local/apache2/modules/ -->
(This is not possible anymore)
Since all my ../build/jk2/apache2/
folder contents are ________________________________________

What am I
going to do with it?
How do I make the
mod_jk2.so? TIA,
Geruel
