can you mount it as 'root' then? kasi, /root yang partition na tina-try mong i-mount. :)

Can you do a manual mount, i.e. specify the FS type, etc.?

Do you have the fstab of that old sytem handy? You might need the info there.

yes sir, but same error ... the disk was partitioned into three, hda1(/root),hda5(swap),hda6(/), error occurs when mounting hda1... or (hdb1 when it 's on primary slave....
