i tried copying /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist into /etc/postfix/main.cf , somehow when i telnet to it connection is not permitted. while if i use the previous main.cf everything seems to be find. are these 2 config different ?
If there was already a default main.cf, you may start from there and read this [1]
Reminder: Backup up anything before you edit anything
