i did work on a project using Condor (part of VDT) before. it's good
but it's an overkill & doesn't fit our production requirements. thus,
forcing us to implement our own, having only the features that we
need. if i may, before you try any of these, kindly determine the
scale of your real requirements because you might not be needing
VDT in the first place.
 
you may read the docs of condor, then globus regarding the job
submission and try to learn the scripting involved.
