Its not as easy as that. how much power do we have? Is it enough to say we want open source in government and it will happen? Congress need to be pushed to do that. And i think the major powers in the IT industry has a bigger push in the opposite direction. Unfortunately right does not make might. ITs quiet the opposite. Good people need might to enforce whats right and us it the right way. Screaming your lungs off is not going to cut it. words dont cut it. A credible software base for all our needs must be deployed first by private enterprise. Then congress will just roll over. -- things i hate about my linux pc: 1. it takes more than a second to boot up 2. keeps asking about filenames and directories 3. does not remember what i was working on yesterday 4. does not remember all the changes i have ever made 5.cannot figure out necessary settings by itself _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
