I tried the live cd, Kororaa XGL. It works fine on my Radeon Mobility 7500
and performance is great. It has some bugs though (specially on ATI cards).
X just crashes after trying to play a video file. The install button doesn't
work either (on my laptop).

Have you opened up ports 25 and 110?

monitoring the presence of the process is one thing but
you may also want to consider monitoring if that process
is operational.

it's like monitoring a service (using Nagios, etc) by polling
only the service port (connect) and without testing the
complete service (connect, auth, read, write, dependencies,
etc) which can lead to users' "downtime" if they can't write
any data (ie. disk full).

hi kabayan,

just download the packages mentioned, then untar, configure,
make, and then install them before proceeding with a _clean_
rrdtool compilation.

Got to have a valid reason to get a Mac :)

http://aplawrence.com/MacOSX/vmware_hypervisor.html

A Mac Hypervisor?

This is Saturday, two days before the opening of Apple's 2006 WWDC.
Speculation has been rampant for months as to what sorts of new things Apple
may be announcing there. Most of the guesses have posited things like Mac
cellphones, super iPods and the like, but Tom Yager may have drawn a bead on
something that's really much more interesting

Tom actually first mentioned this back in May: OS X Leopard: Hello,
hypervisor, but now he seems to be pretty certain: VMware for Mac to debut
August 7.

Soon you will be carving lpars on it.
