i had an almost thesame problem with my wireless, im trying to force
KNetwork in boot up to connect to the wireless router, ifconfig will
show something similar to what you have there. The ndiswrapper i used
is well inserted module too when i check it everytime so i cant see no
reason that it is a hardware issue.
The only solution i got is to go on traditional, ifdown then ifup
wlan0 after booting up, then the dchpclient will acquire connection
with correct ip range to the router. Before it has a nasty hbit of
showing a 169.xxx.xxxx.xxx range after acquiring the ip address.

ifconfig what was registered was an IP6 address. i know it got to be
the cards cause my friend has no problems with realtek. now i have a
lame connection and instead of ubuntu alone in my box i was forced to
dual boot to WinXp for my internet purposes. i could not even download
ubuntu uodates and packages because i have no connection. please help
me guys..
