There was a problem with the xserver-core patch from dapper-updates
that borked a lot of dapper installations but was fixed a few minutes
after but it was too late for most users who rebooted.

From your console, do an update again by doing apt-get update then
apt-get upgrade and the fixed xserver-core patch will be downloaded.
